Tua Tee Ba

 I first learned of this name when I was following closely the news of the Little India Riot. I was shocked and curious. 'A riot in Singapore?'. It was inconceivable. Singapore is an orderly and well-secured country where freedom of mobility is guaranteed by good policing and national security. Tua Tee Ba's name came up in the investigation of the Little India Riot. His sharp inquisition, directness, and clarity of the situation impressed me.

Sashi, a simple thought can add up to a great number. Just start. I was having lunch with Sashi, a Singaporean friend, and he shared with me his idea of tree planting. He and his family had planted 20 fruit trees in his ancestors land in India. He could expand the idea from a simple act to achieve 1 million trees. Each tree seedlings cost about $1-$2 dollars. There are ample unused lots of land belonging to the farmers in the neighbourhood. A million seems like a lot but if it is done over the years and collaborated with thousands of people then it would seem very easy to achieve. He had started the first step, a series of 20 trees. We need to share the ideas and expand it to more people so that it can be achieved over a longer period if it need be. I was happy to do a recording and he can share his idea.
